AWARD-WINNING GROUP TO PERFORM AT FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

The award winning original roots music group Kathy Boyd & Phoenix Rising will perform a special concert featuring songs off their upcoming 4th all-original CD release on Saturday, February 18th at the First Presbyterian Church located at 114 SW 8th Street beginning at 7 p.m. Admission is a suggested $10 at the door.
Based in Tualatin, Kathy Boyd & Phoenix Rising has much to celebrate. In addition to having written and produced the $10,000 award winning song "Twelve More Miles to Clatskanie", the band also boasts the 2008 Roots Music Association Bluegrass Songwriter of the Year - guitar player Dennis Nelson. Their most recent CD release - "Walk Humbly" - reached #62 on the Roots Music Airplay Chart in November of 2010. The band was honored in 2011 as the Grand Marshall’s of the Clatskanie Heritage Celebration – where the theme for the event will be taken from their award-winning song “Twelve More Miles to Clatskanie”. Their 2011 summer tour found them traveling through Washington, Oregon, California and Nevada and they are currently working with promoters throughout the United States to fill their 2012 calendar.
Currently in the studio recording their 4th all-original CD, Kathy Boyd & Phoenix Rising excited to have this opportunity to take a break and present their music to a live audience.
“We haven’t had the opportunity to perform in Corvallis for a few years, “stated band leader Kathy Boyd, “and we’re excited to have the opportunity to return – and better yet to return with a whole lot of new music!”
The concert will take place in the Fellowship Hall of First Presbyterian Church. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
